2024 Fallout 4 how to get out of power armor

Edit: My solution was to fast travel out of the area and back. The guy hopped out as soon as I fast traveled back to my original location. Parked it back in the garage and removed the fusion core and all other cores in my other power armor frames. guys this has a really easy fix, go up to them and remove the fusion core..
